After its set up earlier this year the theatre collective has been a forum for theatre company’s to advertise there shows and companies. As well as inform those with an interest in taking part or seeing local theatre in our area. The collective now prepares to make its first production, a challenging debut in the play “Bang bang you’re dead” by William Mastrosimone

Following on from there highly successful run of “Bang bang you’re dead” in St Ives as part of St Ives Youth Theatre’s double bill based on violence in young people. Members of the newly formed “St Ives theatre collective” are now preparing to challenge the Edinburgh fringe festival in august the largest of its kind in the UK.

The cast is made up of some original and some new members of Tyler Mortimer’s production with St Ives youth theatre in March 2010. The play also boasts a fresh cast witch “collective” artistic director Tyler Mortimer says “will add a whole new dynamic”. Joining the cast will be other members of the youth theatre as well as members of other theatre groups. “The play is perfect for the fringe!” says Mortimer. “It’s minimal and there’s only one real item of stage we need to take with us, but the problem now is securing funding. “All of the cast and crew involved will be paying their own way. But most having previous fringe experience are quite happy to do so testament only to the passionate work of its cast and supporters who have campaigned for its run at the fringe since its run back in 2010.
